From the giant walls to the amazing drop offs and arches and with a
variety of fish life which can be spotted here, Richies Place is a must.
Entering from the boat and descending down the descent line we
start the dive by crossing the sand to a small swim through, through
an arch in one of the many immense sharp rocks. To the right of this
arch you will discover a placard in memory of Richard, a dive guide
who the site is name after. To the left of the arch, with the cliff on
the left hand side, the wall descends down forming a canyon.
Following this cliff down you will see a a outlying rock to your left
hand side split in two. This makes a great little swim through leading
you to a sand slope which disappears the other side.
The first branch of orange coral can be spotted in the cave at the
bottom of the cliff. Following the wall we rise above the large group
of rocks, which stick out from the cliff, where we will find a small
overhang with the second branch of orange coral grows. At this stage
we begin our return back to the ascent line over the sand bed. This
dive can also be done in reverse. |
